HEAVY METAL. Dense, shiny, sculptural -- this natural hunk of otherworld is our biggest meteorite in stock right now at 8" long and 6lb. It comes with a three pronged black display base, but honestly deserves its own cabinet.
Around 4000 years ago, a 100-ton iron meteorite hurtled into our atmosphere at 160,000 mph. Strewn patterns suggest it may have blown into thousands of little pieces before it even hit, resulting in a huge field of craters in Argentina that would later be known as the Campo del Cielo, meaning “Field of Heaven.” Natives once used this unusually pure iron to make weapons.
